  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from MV -- Great for parents as well : Using humor, transparent honesty and insightful introspection, Katie offers her readers a glimpse into the challenges and triumphs of her own journey. As an “empty nest” dad to three young adults of my own, I appreciate the reminders of what this age group currently faces. I was also challenged to think more carefully about how I approach my own kids in their struggles. Katie has written a wonderful book to encourage those in the middle of the struggle. Parents of this group can also benefit from her writing, as we all learn how to best encourage and support the next generation. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Adrianne H -- Relatable, raw, and funny- : I couldn’t put this book down. This book felt personal, real, and raw. In a world where many of us hold back from sharing the hard (or embarrassing) paths we’ve walked, Katie published hers to the world. We need more of this. Her writing is friendly and funny. What she wrote about is relatable for so many and even though it’s “just” a book, it makes you feel less alone when reading. Highly recommend. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from laurenashley -- Authentic AND hilarious!!!! : If a book can give me encouragement, advice AND make me laugh at the same time, then I’m in. Katie puts herself out there by sharing her real life stories as well as encouragement on how anyone can get through their “gap decade”. I was absolutely hooked from the first page. And even though I’ve already had my gap decade, there were so many truths to take away that I could still apply to my life. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and was sad when it was over. 10/10 recommend!!! ( Reviewed in the United States on November 3, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Janelle Lang -- A book for all ages to be inspired and encouraged : Katie's writing style invites you in to her story. You feel like you are sitting together in a coffee shop or taking a long walk together. She is relatable, and even though I am in my 50's this book spoke life to me; it's a book for all ages. In a world of instagram perfect moments, Katie sheds light on reality and the beauty and messiness of life. I laughed (a lot) and cried and was thankful for an author who took the courage to share her ups and downs in life and in a genuine way how God met her in those moments. • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Kathi Byrd -- Great read. : I wish there was a book like this when I was going through that period of my life. I have to buy several copies so I can give them to my daughter and other younger friends so they can realize everyone has “seasons” in their lives and that normal is different for everyone. Thank you Katie for your awesome way with words! ( Reviewed in the United States on October 21, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Karli Von Herbulis -- I feel SEEN! : I’m so grateful for this book. Katie’s stories made me feel so seen and understood! Even though I’m now solidly into my 30’s, I still feel like I’m living in the gap decade. Katie’s words read a lot like Jen Hatmaker, but for the next generation. Such a fun, encouraging read. • 5.0 out of 5 stars from KS -- Funny and uplifting! : In a filtered Instagram world, Katie’s honesty in handling the mountains and valleys of her 20s are so refreshing. And funny! I feel like many of these lessons follow us through every decade. All ages can both enjoy & be affirmed by her candid stories of real life. She shines a light on what many strive to hide. Laugh and cry with her! ( Reviewed in the United States on November 3, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from 77dre -- Great read! : Beautiful, funny and full of hope. Loved reading her journey and all great reminders along the way. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 25, 2021 )
